Energy Conservation

Energy Conservation is defined as the efficient use of energy. It may be achieved by using less energy to generate a given amount of work.

Globally energy conservation has tremendous potential to boost economic growth and avoid greenhouse gas. It can be achieved by initiative in substantial energy saving and consequently lowered Carbon Dioxide emissions.
This day is celebrated each year on December 14. The two major motives behind energy conservation:-
1) Save on utility bills 2) Protect the environment
There are following given few ways to conserve energy:-
1. Adjust your day-to-day behaviors- Turn off electronic switches when not in use.
2. Replace your light bulbs-  Use CFLs , LEDs and Halogen bulbs. You can save 80% of less electricity.
3. Use smart power strips- It is also known as advanced power strips, eliminate the problem of phantom loads by shutting off the power to electronics when they are not in used.
4. Install a programmable or smart Thermostat- It can set to automatically turn off or reduce heating or cooling during the times when you are asleep or away.
5. Purchase energy efficient appliances
6. Weatherize  your home- Proper Ventilation should be there through windows and ventilation. It can conserve energy as well as give you fresh air that gives you healthy life.
Energy Conservation is very important because utilization of non-renewable resources also impacts our environment. Specially uses of fossils fuels supplies to air and water pollution such as carbon dioxide is produced when oil, coal and gas combust in power stations, heating systems and engines in car.
The other reason for energy conservation is the health and well-being of every life form on the entire planet.
Using fossil fuels and some other energy forms typically pollute the environment in a number of ways. The air is polluted when fossil fuels like coal are burned and released into it.
An Indian saying describes in the way "The Earth, air and water are not a gift from our parents but a loan from our children. Hence, we need to conserve energy in our habit."
